Solah Somvar Fasts 

Followed by young boys and girls, usually unmarried, this fast says to appeal to Lord Shiva infinitely. It is kept for 16 consecutive Mondays and Lord Shiva is said to fulfill the wish of the one observing this fast. Most often it is kept to ask for a good partner and an ideal marriage from the Lord. A special Pooja is performed to mark the end of these fasts. 

Pradosh Fasts 

Kept on the 13th day of the Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha, this fast is strict and followed by a Pooja during the Pradosh Kaal. It is a pure day to worship Lord Shiva and seek his blessings.
