Day 4 – Apple & Singhare Atta Malpua



Apple & Singhare Atta Malpua is thin golden and lace edged, almost like sweet crepe with festive soul. The apple give gentle sweetness while singhare flour add earthy depth, all soaked in light jaggery saffron syrup that shine like sunshine. Crisp at rim and soft in middle, every malpua taste like little festival on plate.

What make this a navratri fasting recipe so special is how humble ingredients suddenly feel royal when they come together. One bite carry comfort of home and charm of celebration both at once.

Ingredients (for 6 malpuas)

For Light Syrup

Process

  1. In a bowl mix singhare atta grated apple jaggery powder and cardamom. Add water or milk gradually to form a smooth flowing batter.
  2. Heat ghee in a flat pan and pour small rounds of batter. Fry on low flame till golden on both sides.
  3. For syrup boil water jaggery and saffron till slightly sticky.
  4. Dip hot malpuas into the syrup for a few seconds and remove.
  5. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve warm.

A festive twist to the classic malpua made fasting-friendly with singhare flour and the natural sweetness of apple.
