Day 7 – Makhana & Singhara Flour Pakoras



Nothing comfort quite like hot pakoras on fasting evening. Makhana & Singhara Flour Pakoras are rustic uneven little bites, crisp outside and soft inside with nutty crunch of lotus seeds in every mouthful. Fried till golden they taste earthy and homely.

What make this a special recipe for fasting in navratri is how simple they are yet how satisfying. Paired with green and brown chutney, they give exactly that balance of spice tang and crunch which your heart crave during fast.

This navratri fasting recipe remind us that indulgence doesn’t need fancy, sometimes just a plate of pakoras can feel like celebration.

Ingredients (for 10 pakoras)

Process

  1. In a bowl mix singhara atta crushed makhana potato chilli ginger salt and pepper. Add little water to form a thick batter.
  2. Heat ghee in a deep pan. Drop spoonfuls of the batter and fry on medium flame till golden and crisp.
  3. Serve hot with rock salt sprinkled or a light mint curd dip.

Crispy outside with nutty bites of makhana inside. A unique pakora perfect for Navratri evenings.
